Carsons is a joint founding shareholder of Union Assurance a leading private sector insurance provider in Sri Lanka. Union Assurance commenced operations in 1987 and offers both general and life insurance. UAL currently has a market share of 9.6% and 7.6 % in life and general insurance segments respectively.

Unit Trust
The Unit Trust Management Company (Pvt) Limited is a fund management company which is jointly owned by Carsons (22% stake), Unit Trust of India, the Bank of Ceylon and HSBC Asset Management - Hong Kong. The Company manages Ceybank Unit Trust and the Century Growth Fund. Both are primarily equity-based mutual funds, which invest in Sri Lanka stocks. UTMCL has a fund base amounting to Rs. 2.5 billion.
